Be a quitter

“Quitting is easy. I’ve done it a thousand times.” We of course know this famous statement from Mark Twain on smoking. And many smokers today tend to live off this statement, resolving to quit smoking one day, only to find themselves with another cigarette the next.

Every smoker is obviously aware of what smoking can do to his body over a period of time, which is why many of them try to quit the ugly habit before they cause themselves some serious damage. But we all already know, not many of these quitters really say good bye to cigarettes. So here are some added incentives that you gift yourself if you kick the butt today.

To start with, let’s say an average pack of cigarettes costs Rs. 100, which means that if you smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, you are literally burning away Rs. 3,000/- in a month, Rs. 36,500/- in a year. Imagine what you can do with all that money. Kick the butt and use your savings to go on a vacation.

Ex-smokers have been found to have better reasoning skills and memory compared to smokers, which indicates that smoking may also affect your brainpower.

Smoking can make your skin age faster and make you more likely to go gray, making you look much older than you actually are.

A study also suggests that smoking can have adverse effects on women, affecting their chances of conceiving by almost 30%.

Smoking is linked to gum diseases and bad breath and doubles your age-related risk of macular degeneration.

So you definitely have more reasons to quit smoking than to continue. What are you waiting for?
